Khartoum, August 21 (QNA) - The Sudanese government praised the urgent relief aid provided by the State of Qatar in support of Sudanese efforts to face the effects of floods and torrential rains, which occurred in different parts of Sudan.
Sudanese Minister of Social Development Ahmed Adam Bakheet said in a press statement after the arrival of Qatari aid to Khartoum International Airport that this aid confirms the strength and durability of relations between the two countries, praising the great role played by the State of Qatar towards the Sudanese people, by extending a helping hand and providing the necessary support to counter the effects of the floods.
For his part, HE Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Sudan Abdulrahman bin Ali Al Kubaisi affirmed that the aid comes to alleviate the effects of the torrential rains and floods in many Sudanese states, expressing his hope that it will contribute to providing relief to those affected.
Two Amiri Air Force planes of the Qatari Armed Forces arrived today in Sudan, carrying an urgent relief aid shipment, provided by the Qatar Fund for Development in cooperation with Qatar Charity, and in coordination with the Embassy of the State of Qatar in Khartoum.
This assistance comes as support for the Sudanese people to address the aftermath of the floods hitting the country, and to support the Sudanese people in rebuilding what was destroyed. (QNA)
