Basra, January 07 (QNA) - The Qatari national team achieved an important victory over its Kuwaiti counterpart (2-0), in its first match in the 25th edition of the Arabian Gulf Cup football tournament (Gulf 25), played today at Al-Minaa Stadium in the Iraqi city of Basra.
The Qatari national team's double was scored by Omar Siraj in minute (23), and Ahmed Alaa in minute (38) from a penalty kick.
With this result, the Qatari team topped its group with three points, while the Kuwaiti team remained with zero points.
The Qatari national team performed well at all levels, as it is participating in the tournament with a group of young players and others from the first team that participated in the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
The left winger of the Qatari team, Omar Siraj, won the best player of the match award. (QNA)
