Muscat, October 17 (QNA) - During their 15th meeting on Monday in Muscat, Oman, Their Excellencies Attorneys General and Public Prosecutors of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states approved the ethics document for artificial intelligence (AI) in the work of the public prosecution.
This document aims to establish a regulatory framework for the ethics of using artificial intelligence in the work of public prosecution and attorney general agencies to improve the quality of work, accelerate the pace of the decision-making process, and make its outputs characterized by accuracy, efficiency, and fairness, while not forgetting the aspect of respecting and preserving rights and freedoms.
This document also provides guidance for the GCC countries to achieve the optimal ethical model for using artificial intelligence systems in the work of public prosecutions and attorney general, which is based on ten principles, including justice, fairness, oversight, confidentiality, transparency, interpretability, security, human values, sustainability and privacy.
