Paris, August 02 (QNA) - HE President of Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al-Thani stressed that the Olympic Games foster friendships and peace through sports.
This statement was made during His Excellencys speech at a reception organized by the Qatar Olympic Committee for Team Qatar in Paris, in the presence of HE Chairperson of Qatar Museums Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad Al-Thani , HE Vice Chairperson and CEO of Qatar Foundation (QF) Sheikha Hind bint Hamad Al-Thani, senior representatives of the Qatar Olympic Committee, as well as numerous guests, prominent figures, and leaders from the Olympic movement.
His Excellency stated "the world's best athletes coming together in peaceful competition reminds us that we are connected by a shared humanity. In these days of competition, we have seen how sport transcends boundaries, breaks down barriers, and builds bridges between people of different cultures and backgrounds. This is a message that is needed in todays world more than ever. " He emphasized that the celebration is not only about the outstanding achievements of our athletes but also the shared values and spirit that define the Olympic Games.
