Doha, August 19 (QNA) - Qatar SC has announced the official signing of Egyptian midfielder Ahmed Abdelkader on loan from Egyptian Al-Ahly SC.
The club said in a statement Monday that Abdelkader, 25, has joined the first football team, expressing hope that he will be a strong addition to the team during the current season.
The new Qatar SC player expressed his great happiness at joining the team that won the runner-up of the 2024 Amir Cup, stressing his quest to appear in a way that meets the aspirations of the club's fans.
During the current summer transfer period, Qatar SC signed Brazilian midfielder Carlos Vinicius "Carlinhos" from Portuguese club Portimonense, and signed player Mohammed Al-Tabouni on loan from Al-Arabi.
It also renewed its contract with Spaniard Javi Martinez, and decided to keep Moroccan defender Badr Banoun and Congolese striker Ben Malango, while Ivorian Johan Boli left its ranks and joined Al-Khor.
The Qatar SC team, led by national coach Youssef Al-Noubi, seeks to improve its results after suffering two defeats in the first and second rounds of the Ooredoo Stars League against Al-Duhail (1-6) and Al-Sadd (the title holder) (1-5). (QNA)
