Accra, October 16 (QNA) - Qatar Charity (QC) has inaugurated the Peace and Love village in Ghana, which includes multiple service facilities, as part of its ongoing efforts to promote sustainable development and meet the health, education and economic empowerment needs of the most vulnerable groups.
The Peace and Love village, which was established in the Kisii area in central Ghana, includes two schools, each consisting of 6 classrooms, designed to provide ample space for students, in addition to a three-storey residential building to accommodate students and orphans, providing them with a safe and supportive living environment.
The village also includes a clinic to support the health needs of the community, which will be managed by the Ghana Health Service (GHS) and will be upgraded to a health center, a mosque equipped with all the necessary facilities for performing prayers, and four new wells, ensuring clean water for all beneficiaries, in addition to building more than 40 houses to accommodate health care workers and teachers, ensuring the stability of medical and educational cadres and providing the villages services at full capacity and operation.
Economic empowerment projects are a key focus of the Peace and Love village projects, which promote food security initiatives and sustainable agricultural practices.
The village provides other projects, such as bicycle services and a bakery, which provide opportunities for increasing income and self-reliance for many beneficiaries in the area.
Director of Qatar Charitys office in Ghana Eng. Hassan Odeh, said that the Peace and Love village is a model for building a sustainable community through a comprehensive approach to meet the educational, economic, religious and health care needs of the people of Kisi in the central region, which supports the sustainable development goals in Ghana by providing areas like Kisi with the tools and resources necessary to achieve a self-sufficient and prosperous society.
For his part, Director of Health in Kisii District Martinsomani Bako praised the healthcare facilities in the district and commended the great efforts made by Qatar Charity to support the health sector in Ghana.
The opening of the Peace and Love village comes only about a month after Qatar Charity launched a package of development projects in Ghana, including the opening of a multi-service center in Ineswanu in the Eastern Region, and a home and school for orphans in Ithmar in the Prambram District with the aim of meeting the basic needs of the population and contributing to the well-being and future of Ghana's youth, in addition to the opening of the Dar es Salaam Model Village, which consists of a school that accommodates students from kindergarten to middle school, a clinic, a mosque, and housing for teachers and nurses.
