Doha, December 15 (QNA) - The Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MOEHE) marked Sunday the Qatar National Day.
Students, teachers and MOEHE affiliates in traditional clothing and draped with the national flag over their shoulders commemorated the occasion at the MOEHE's permanent headquarters in Al Qutaifiya.
The Qatar National Day is observed annually on December 18. This year's celebration comes under the slogan "in love of the homeland".
An MOEHE statement on Sunday said the celebration aims to boost the values of loyalty and belonging to the homeland among the youth on the day of pride and honor, the foundations of which were laid by the founder late Sheikh Jassim bin Mohammed bin Thani in 1878.
HE MOEHE Undersecretary Dr. Ibrahim bin Saleh Al Nuaimi said that Qatar was observing this year's commemoration while being the peak of its global political leadership and economic prosperity.
Dr. Al Nuaimi hailed the occasion as the day of solidarity and loyalty that represents a source of inspiration for a better tomorrow, pointing to Qatar's scientific renaissance.
Extending the highest congratulations to HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani for the remarkable achievements across various fields, Dr. Al Nuaimi wished the people of Qatar further prosperity and progress and the Qatari students excellence in the first semester exams of the academic year 2024-2025.
Meanwhile, Assistant Director of Schools and Students Affairs Department Fatima Al Obaidli highlighted the MOEHE's activities to enhance the spirit of loyalty and belonging including organizing national operettas and participating in Darb Al Saai events.
On the sidelines of the celebration, there were cultural competitions, an accompanying art exhibition and an exhibition of traditional clothing.
