Qatar Motor and Motorcycle Federation Unveils Details of 2025 Qatar International Rally
Doha, December 17 (QNA) - Qatar Motor and Motorcycle Federation (QMMF) announced the details of the 2025 Qatar International Rally, which will be the second round of Middle East Rally Championship, taking place from Feb. 6 to 8, 2025.
In a statement released today, QMMF revealed that the rally will feature 13 special speed stages, covering a total distance of 212.64 kilometers, with overall rally distance totaling 627.19 kilometers.
The technical scrutineering will take place at Lusail International Circuit, and media center will be located at QMMF's headquarters within the circuit.
The administrative checks will be held on February 4, followed by a press conference on evening of February 6, just half an hour before ceremonial start. The first stage will kick off at 7:00 p.m. on the same day, with a 4.36-kilometer spectator stage.
The main rally competition will take place on February 7 and 8, with two runs of three special stages each day on gravel tracks. The final press conference and awards ceremony for winners will take place at 6:30 p.m. on the last day of the rally.
On February 7, the first three stages will take place in the Al Mashrab, Al Wab, and Al Khobar areas, and will be repeated in afternoon after returning to Lusail for regrouping and repairs at the service park.
On the final day, participants will complete Umm Baraka, Ras Laffan, and Al Dhakira stages in the morning, with a repeat in afternoon. Al Dhakira stage, which is 13.98 kilometers long, will be the "Power Stage," where drivers can earn additional points toward their overall score.
Executive Director of QMMF, Amro Al Hamad, confirmed that the traditional format for Qatar International Rally has been maintained, with a spectator stage on the first day and two runs of three stages on the following days. He expressed hope that 2025 edition will be an exceptional event.
The Middle East Rally Championship will begin with Oman International Rally, returning to the calendar after a one-year hiatus, from January 23 to 25, followed by Qatar International Rally. Other rallies on the calendar include Saudi Rally (May 1-3), Jordan Rally (May 22-24), Lebanon Rally (September 7-9), and final round, Cyprus International Rally (October 4-6, 2025). (QNA)
